2023 Provost’s New Faculty Orientation

WELCOME TO UNC CHARLOTTE!

The 2023 New Faculty Orientation, which is scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, will be a hybrid event.

The morning and early afternoon of in-person events take place on the 3rd floor of the Student Union.

Please watch the presentations prior to August 15 and have your questions ready for the face-to-face Q & A session with presenters on August 15th.

The Presentations that you are required to watch prior to the actual Orientation on August 15 will be available on the UNC Charlotte CANVAS website.

PLEASE CHECK THE NEW FACULTY ORIENTATION COURSE ON CANVAS ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE THE ORIENTATION TO WATCH THE VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS before attending the in-person session.

During the morning of August 15, a series of new live presentations and Q +A Sessions with each presenter from the presentations you watched prior to the orientation will be

In the afternoon, which is also face-to-face, there will be the opportunity to have lunch with your Dean, Associate Deans, and fellow new faculty in your college followed by a resource fair.

A Resource Fair will follow, where numerous offices from around campus will be available to talk to you about how they can assist you in being successful here at UNC Charlotte.

LOCATION AND PARKING FOR NFO

For directions to the Popp Martin student union please click here

  • The closest parking is the Union Deck located at 8755 STUDENT UNION LN, Charlotte NC 28223.
  • For those with UNC Charlotte faculty/staff parking permits, your permit will allow you to park in the Union Deck on the day of the event.
  • For those without UNC Charlotte parking permits, please email Tonya Thompson at tonya.thompson@charlotte.edu by Aug. 10th to request pre-paid entry tickets, which will be distributed to those that request them at the New Faculty Orientation on August 15th.
  • Questions about parking status, enforcement, or permits should go to PaTS.
