CAFS CHAIRS AND DIRECTORS ACADEMY
In Fall 2024, The Center for ADVANCing Faculty Success launched a CHAIRS AND DIRECTOR’S ACADEMY.

New and Seasoned Chairs meet once a month to participate in workshops around topics pertinent to their leadership roles at the institution. This programing is also designed to foster a sense of community amongst chairs and provide the opportunity for peer mentoring and support.
2025 Spring Schedule
The January Meeting, scheduled for January 17 th, which will be facilitated by Yvette Huet, will be focused on Negotiation Strategies
The February Meeting is scheduled for FRIDAY Feb 21, from 11:30 – 1:30 a.m. VIRTUAL Please note the time change. The Chairs Academy will be facilitated by Robert Talbert from Grand Valley State University. His Workshop will be focused on Emails and Productivity and is titled: Intentional Email: Mastering Academic Email Management. Check out details here.

2024 Fall Schedule
Our meeting in October will be joint meeting with Leadership UNC Charlotte. Please join us on Wednesday, October 16th from 1:00- 4:00 p.m. for a workshop facilitated by Annmarie Caño, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, Gonzaga University and Executive Coach. The topic for her workshop is: Building Positive Cultures: Liberating Strategies to Support Organizational Health. Location: Harris Alumni Center at Johnson Glen

The November Meeting, which is scheduled for Friday, November 22 from 10:30 – 12:30 p.m in CHHS 124 features a panel discussion with the Deans, who will discuss the roles of Chairs and Directors in their Colleges, and their expectations for individuals in those roles. Please sign up to attend.
