You’ve Been Hired – Now What?
Congratulations! You have completed all the necessary hiring paperwork and actions, received your letter of appointment and your graduate faculty status notification (if applicable), and now have access to your UNC Charlotte account. What happens next?
Review the points below for a summary of what you need to prepare as you begin your position.
Employment Authorization
Your employment is contingent upon providing acceptable documentation of your identity and employment authorization, as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA). You must complete Section One of the USCIS Form I-9 on or before your first day of employment. To complete the I-9 form click here.
You must also schedule an in-person appointment to present the necessary identification documents. Your appointment will be at the Office of Human Resources, located in the King Building, Room 222. For inquiries, you can reach them at 704-687-0669. You must maintain legal eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with U.S. immigration and other relevant laws.
If you have previously worked at UNC Charlotte and had a break in service of more than one year, you are still required to complete the I-9 process.
