ADVANCE PROGRAMMING

UNC Charlotte ADVANCE FADO started as an initiative supported by an NSF Institutional Transformation Grant focused on helping the university create an institutional environment to support the recruitment, retention and academic success of women faculty, especially those in STEM disciplines. It is clear that our efforts to promote the success of women and minority faculty had a positive impact on ALL faculty at the institution, and consequently, since the funding period ended, and the office was institutionalized, the vast majority of our programming has been aimed at the entire faculty community. Our mission reflects this commitment to facilitate the development of ALL faculty at UNC Charlotte, and to increase faculty success campus-wide.

Our Mission

The UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Faculty Affairs and Diversity Office builds faculty diversity and promotes faculty success through research and programming on recruitment, re-appointment, promotion and tenure practices; policy reform; mentoring; leadership and career development.
