Dr. Yvette Huet named as the Interim Director of the Health Services Research Ph.D. program in the CHHS

Dr. Yvette Huet, Director of the ADVANCE Office and Professor of Biology, was named as the Interim Director of the Health Services Research Ph.D. program in the College of Health and Human Services effective August 1, 2012. Dr. Huet established herself as a skilled leader this past year through her extraordinary service to the College as Interim Chair of the Department of Kinesiology.

She holds a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Kansas Medical Center, and was a Postdoctoral fellow at Monsanto before coming to UNCC in 1991. Dr. Huet’s career at UNCC began in the Department of Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences where she has taught, mentored undergraduate and graduate students, served as the Department’s Coordinator for the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in Biology and developed her research in the area of reproductive endocrinology. She has also been in active service to the UNCC Institutional Animal Care and use Committee since 1992.

In addition to her many scholarly accomplishments, Yvette is the Co-Principal Investigator for the UNCC NSF ADVANCE grant, and serves as Faculty Director of that program and the UNCC Faculty Affairs Office which provides institutional leadership training, faculty mentoring and support.
